Very well-made tailboard plate camera with Goerz Berlin Dogmar 180mm f/4.5 Lens in Compound shutter.
Has a Burke & James 4 x 5 back that was adapted to the camera, fits in horizontal position only.
The back needs to be taken off when camera is folded up.
Wood and finish are in excellent condition with nicely finished nickel plated hardware.
Has double extension tailboard that slides back for full extension. Bellows extend from 3.5 inches to 16 inches.
The bellows are light-tight and in excellent condition with leather corners.
Compound Shutter is working reasonably well, 1/50th, 1/00th and 1/150th sound good, other speeds are slow.
B works, T does not. Locking shutter release included. Shutter could eventually use a service.
The Goerz lens optics are in good condition for their age, has generic front lens cap.
Front movements are rise, fall and shift, the rear has tilt. Focus is smooth, everything locks
down and the camera is rigid and ready to shoot. This would be an interesting display piece or
a lightweight and portable field camera.
