hey people,

ive been given a option to purchase a new reflecta mf5000 at a amazing price. I was looking for peoples experience with this scanner. i shot both 35mm and 120. im looking for better quality than v700,v800. i understand its not going to the stand uo to the x1 or x5 flexright but from what ive seen is much better than flat beds.

i have read loads of reviews today so much so my head hurts. the braun fs 120 seems like a tweeted version of the mf5000 which includes the mf holder which holds 3 6x6 frames at a time. i have a rz67 how may frames is the film holder able to fit?

purpose for scanner is 35mm web use and print frames i like and 120 is for project. i feel my main pictures could be scanned with x5 if i exhibit and need even bigger prints and more depth.

I think the next step up from a Epson V700/800 just has to be the Nikon medium format scanner. Flatbed scanners just don't have the clout to ensure that all the detail is captured. I have a V700 but recently bought a Nikon V5 35mm scanner and the difference in quality is nothing short of astounding and that is with 35mm. The flatbed, scanning at full resolution and likewise the V5, the file size on the V500 is bigger but in comparison to the V5 the results are soft!

finally a response haha. ive seen reviews of the nikon v5 but im only interested in the reflecta mf5000 as i can get it for a great price. the difference in output from flat bed to film scanner is as you said night and day. I am really looking for someones input on there experience with this scanner.
