I bought the Yashica Mat TLR with Lumaxar 80/3.5 lens from this forum, and film tested. Asking $100 paypal'd and shipped from CA 94010, US 48 states only please.

Personally I like the Yashica TLRs without meter a bit more, and this Yashica Mat has the Lumaxar 80/3.5 lens and is film tested. Cosmetically and mechanically I would rate KEH BGN, with one exception. The slower speed 1/15 and below are slow or unreliable. 1/30s and above are all fine. Lens is clear and clean, focus is smooth, and film advance is quite even. Comes with leather case.

Thank you @Cholentpot . The Yashicas are good little cameras, operates very similar to a Rolleiflex 3.5 Automat, and performs similar to a Tessar.

@tom williams Just checked the focus screen/finder:

- The folding focus hood and magnifier are in good working order
- The focus screen is a 5x5 grid plain fresnel screen, with a circle in the middle. The fine grid line is red. It reminds me of the standard Mamiya C330 focus screen, not super bright, but snap in/out of focus quite easily. The central circle is not split image, and image inside the circle also snap in/out of focus as the rest of the screen.

Honestly, this is a very square deal (pun intended).

I know that the slow shutter speed mechanism is a very simple service on the mamiya C series tlr. I've done it a few times. You have the leatherette to contend with on this model which is really not a big deal (once you've done one, you realize how ez it is to lift and re-glue). I've never done a yashica, but I bet it's not much harder.... take out the mechanism and flush with lighter fluid... a tiny drop of sewing machine oil (very tiny) and you're back in business. I would guess that very few people are going to use speeds slower than 1/30th anyway.

And cleaning the mirror is a simple process also, though it takes a very light touch with the proper materials. The viewfinder usually brightens up nicely once this is done in my experience (and this one may not even need to be cleaned). If this thing is still here tomorrow, I'll buy it... lol.. fresh'n it up and turn it on ebay and make enough money to buy some more 120 film.

I second Eric's statement. I cleaned the shutter mechanism on my Yashica 124 a few years ago, along with the mirror and ground glass. All in two hours time. And there are replacement mirrors available, with better silvering, to make the image brighter in the viewfinder. Bright focusing screens are also an option.

Lumaxar is a Tessar design, if I recall correctly, pretty sharp and contrasty. No buyer can go wrong with this camera.
