Hi all,

I don’t know now after all if it’s just me but I’m struggling to find a red 25 and a blue 47 filter 77mm diameter. I’m based in Hungary and it was told that I need to wait 2-3 months in case I order now. As I do not intend to do this I started looking after them without success. I’ve checked Hoya and B+W and also Tiffen. Tiffen has all what I need but I just can’t find any distributor. Do you guys have any suggestion where to look? I’m also open to get the red from Hoya or B+W and the blue from Tiffen but Hoya has this issue in the UK and it’s temporarily unavailable on some german sites and also on amazon. It still could happen that it’s just me but I’m not sure.

I can't offer any suggestions for vendors in or around Budapest, but Tim at filterfind.net in California has often helped me find filters difficult to source. He does offer shipping to other countries, with some caveats. See this: https://filterfind.net/Order.html Here's a link to filterfind's current listings for 77mm filters: https://filterfind.net/77mm_filters.html Note that many of the filters are used or New Old Stock; Tim's ratings are conservative.
Another possibility would be an adaptor from your 77mm lens "mount" to Series 9 filters. See this from Filterfind: https://filterfind.net/Series_9.html
Be glad that you're not trying to find a 112mm filter! I had to find one for my 300mm f2.8 Tamron; used it was close to $100.00. I bought it for protection of that huge front element; the lens will take 49mm drop in filters.
Good luck with your search! Let us know how things work out.

I use filterfind.net and ebay for most of my used filters, once KEH (turned out well). New, I just use usual online sources. I see Freestyle has the 77mm 25A, but not the blue. I am sure you can find a source in Europe.

The filterfind website is really good, though the minimum order to Europe is $75 and the two what I’d need don’t cost that much, I might order something else as well, but the postage and the custom charges add a lot to the final cost.
I always check ebay but in the past weeks nothing came up here in Europe except a few B+W but the price was insane so I wait for a while and keep on looking.
I’ve tried Cokin square filters but I didn’t like them as it was not so convenient to use, especially that I’ve 77mm diameter lenses and 49mm as well and use the 77 nd and polarizer with a 49-77 step up ring.

I've purchased several used filters in excellent condition at reasonable prices from Ffordes in Scotland. www.ffordes.com
Thanks!
I actually found one for £15 which is really not a big deal so I asked them if they ship to the EU as well and how much would it cost as above a certain total cost there’s the custom charge which can be significant.
But it’s a 80a blue filter and I’m after a 47 and don’t know at the moment the differences between them so I’ve to look into it.

I would try eBay. I have a Russian made set (but no blue). Massive, over the top metal rims, but glass is quite good. Somewhere I have an extra red filter, but front rim is severely dented and will not accept a lens shade. With a long lens you need a lens shade.

Try looking on the SRB website, thye make their own filters and are a lot cheaper than most, but very high quality, I have bought sets of orange filters,7 it total, to fit the the cameras I own,
I checked on their website and I’m wondering if they were made in-house or rebranded glasses?
I’ve heard that the company is around for a long time and has good reputation.

Not that it is what you are looking for necessarily, but B&H Photo has both filters in this size, made by Tiffen.

Yes, I’ve seen them but for $120 I’d have to pay over $60 for postage and custom charges.
