I have a cosmetically near perfect Super Ikonta B, with the Compur rapid shutter and the 2.8 80mm lens (no mx) and I need to have it repaired in the near future.

The Shutter works well, however the aperture blades are out of alignment, and the rangefinder/lens is no working.

The winder, counter, top release work smoothly as well, but the small silver lever drops into the way of a complete shutter cycle, at the front of the camera.

Any positive advice is helpful, plus, I'd like to know if filters were ever made to fit this lens.

While you're at it, go ahead and post your best b&w shots with these cameras here, please.

Cheers.

Can't go wrong with Jurgen Kreckel (Certo6) for servicing folding cameras ( https://certo6.com ). He can be a bit eccentric to deal with but does good work at a resonable price. He did a great job on my Super Ikonta III.

For filters I think you need 37mm slip on type. There are also adapters for using screw in filters. Check the usual sales sites.

Thank you.

I had thought Certo 6 had stopped doing repair work as of a few years ago.

eli griggs:
while some have had "spotless service" with #6, i sent a camera there, it was "serviced"... and unfortunately for me and my sad camera came back to me damaged, and, un-usable. i was charged $$ for his efforts. when i received the package and opened it, it was VISIBLY FUBAR :cry:so i called and asked what he did to my poor camera, why he shipped me a crippled/ wrecked camera. i was brushed off. he did say he would before deciding to send my camera his way, i emailed and asked if he worked on this brand / type camera i wanted to send him and he said he worked on them and he could fix it for me. ( it just needed to replace a tiny threaded screw/shaft, it wasn't an overhaul or CLA or anything extreme )

on the other hand ... i would happily send everyone and anyone to zack's. he has an in-house lathe, and is able to fabricate parts as needed. he is a well rounded repair person and won't take things he has no clue about fixing. to be brutally honest, i wish i sent my camera to zack, it was one of my favorite cameras. i'd still be shooting it today if i brought to him!

have fun with your new camera!
( and good luck to you if you send it to #6 )

filterfind is a good place to get filters, lens shades, series adapters, and so forth for old cameras.
