Wow!

Just wow!

I took my newly acquired Retina iiiC for a photo tour and I have to say; I am impressed. First of all this particular camera is still in great shape and everything seems to work great at this point. I can certainly see why people like these cameras even years after their heyday.

The first roll is hanging in the shower to dry (that does sound a bit odd) and they look really, really good.

Getting to know this camera better is going to be a lot of fun.

Now all I need to figure out is what Series filter adaptor fits the Retina-Xenon lens. I already own a full set of Series 5 and 6 filters.

I am very glad I started this thread.

Not a Kodak camera, but.... When my Father returned from a business trip sometime in the mid '50s he brought with him a new AsahiFlex IIa, the one which looks like a screw mount Leica with a waist level finder attached. This was my intro - and his - to SLRs. He used it for decades, taking closeups and/or macros of wildflowers, and of course family photos, landscapes, etc. My Father died in 2001, I now have his AsahiFlex kit, the 50mm 3.5, a Sears Tower 35mm f2.8, the 83mm f1.9, extension tubes, bellows, etc. The camera itself is pretty rough, having been heavily used, not abused.
So, when I saw the same camera with the 50mm f2.4 available, I bought it. A little work by Advance Camera and I can reconnect with my Father. In some sense you can go home again......

it’s a lot easier to get the Kodak “32 mm” filters. They are abundant on eBay. The Kodak filter will fold into the camera. Also get a Gen-u-whine Retina lens hood... you’ll not regret it.

just remember the Kodak "32mm" filters are actually 29.5mm thread (in case you're looking at third party filters for something Kodak never made like a R72 filter.)

Thanks. I was pretty sure some of you would have the answer.

I'm sure I have some 29.5mm filters somewhere around here for my Agfa but I also found a Tiffen Series 6 Filter Adapter in my junk drawer that fits the thread. That solves the problem for now.

While I can't fold the camera up with the filter adapter in place I will probably survive. Since I have a huge assortment of different types of Series VI filters that saves me from needing to buy something else. My GAS is satiated for the moment so I just want to enjoy the camera and learn what I can do with it without having to spend a lot more money.
