I printed and scanned a grayscale step tablet. When I opened up in photoshop to read the INPUT values from 0,5,10,15,20,25,30,35,40,45,50 I starting to get strange numbers like OUTPUT= 0,7,16,49,62,1543,4812,8611,12390,15676,18891. With those numbers I can not correct the curve of the histogram in levels.
Is my scan bad? I use a epson V500 flatbed scan and VueScan for scanning software. The tablet was provided by Ron Reeder's book, and I am following his book, but this is the first time I am giving digital negatives a try to be honest.
Any help regarding the issue with really high K values will help, thanks.
