They are part of the same overall package of technology so to speak.
Of which two electron sensitization and tabular crystals are the most well known.
Of course the sensitometry is quite different. All it takes is a glance to determine that.

Absolutely - and the graphs in the data sheets themselves don't necessarily say much about effective saturation and colour balance differences (and I suspect that some boosted/ cut colour sensitivities/ curves relate as much to coupler behaviour and/ or DIR/ DIAR coupler behaviour & relationships in order to get the materials to line up well with each other) - though at least the sell sheet shows the order from 'natural' to higher saturation as running: 160, 400, 800, then a big jump to Ektar - as well as the fundamental contrast of 160/400/800 being identical to the NC Portras - while Ektar has the higher contrast of the old VC Portras.
