Some papers can pop or curl too. That's why vacuum easels exist.
 
Wow...vacuum easels.?

I did not even realize that heat was such a problem. No doubt there can be several variables, but.....with a Beseler 45 for example.....if i insert the neg, turn on the light and focus (i use a piece of paper fwiw), then grab the grain focus and hit that.....maybe 60 seconds passes.Is this typically a problem.?

Were they made.?
Is the problem just as bad with the smaller negatives.?

Use one for 4"x5"s.
 
Yup. It's a chronic problem with 35mm and 120 film too. That's why people who did professional or competition slide shows always put their slides into glass mounts.
