I just finished a roll of 120 without issues until reeling in the roll when did done. After taking the roll out of the film back, the shutter will not fire with this back attached. Switched to another back, no problem.

I cannot see anything obvious that is causing the shutter issue with this one film back. Any ideas of what I need to check?

Thanks in advance

There are many interlocks in the RB 67. Here;s one. Was the dark slide back in the film back?
See pictures for other suggestions. Do you have the manual? If not, you can get it at Butkus.org

Alan:

Thanks for the reply. I have checked each contact point and everything works fine with another back - just not the one I just used. So it seems that the issue is with the back itself. I just can’t figure out what in the back could be the problem. I’ll keep looking but it is weird.

Yes, checked all the contacts. Most are on the rotating adapter and body. But have checked the dark slide, etc. on the back all “looks” fine, but something is amiss.

Did you remve the back to remove the film? If so, did you close both the top and bottom clasps that secure the back onto the camera? Also, check that the dark slide is removed.

Thanks, Alan. I always like a good challenge, but not where my cameras are concerned. Fortunately, I have three more backs that work 100%.

A couple of unlikely suggestions:
1) swap the dark slides between the backs and see if that makes a difference;
2) try another takeup spool.
