Hi all-
I have a tabletop set up in my home studio and wanted to shoot a fujiroid to look at the lighting as a proof. I don't have any 4x5 fujiroid left, so I'm using an NPC back on a bronica SQ. All goes well until I connect the bronica to a radio slave and try to get them to sync. The profoto heads sputter and fire when connecting the pocket wizard, calm down, then nothing when the shutter is fired. Reposition the cord, plug, everything gets checked and rechecked.....nothing changes. I get a hard-line to sync the main head and the camera, nothing. I change to a different radio trigger...nothing. I did notice two things: 1- When the heads would sputter and discharge whenever initially plugging in the pocket wizard the light would stop blinking green and go to a solid red. 2- I changed camera bodies and new radio triggers for another test a while later, the lights triggered until I unplugged and re-plugged the radio trigger while the trigger was on and the lights, as expected, sputtered and discharged. 3- If the triggers would not fire when the shutter fired on the camera they would still fire manually by press the test button. I've used these lights and triggers for several years and have never had a problem syncing them to my medium format camera, or any other camera. The LF camera taking the hero shot of the set up fires just fine. This is a bit of a head scratcher, any thoughts?!?
