I just finished the last of my Oriental Seagull VC Plus FB paper and thought about maybe trying some more. I know the newer paper is not exactly the same as the old"good" stuff, but thought I might try it anyway. I always thought the old stuff was a "bromide paper" and wondered if it still is. Even my old blue box VC Plus doesn't say on it whether it's one or the other. The trouble is I can't find any information as to what it is, but that goes for many other brands also. How do you know if a paper is "bromide", "chloro-bromide" or a "chloride" type without calling the manufacture? John W

Michael,
Thanks, I rather figured that, but the newer Seagull VC FB paper had me puzzled since I've read that it is a cool/cold tone paper. I guess it's more a bromo-chloride paper than a Chloro-bromide paper then. If that makes any sense? John W

Not necessarily. There can be other things going on in the emulsion, not to mention in some cases cool/cold tones also have to do with brighteners.

No "quick" answer, I'm afraid.

Nothing written in stone, so I guess I'll just try some and see if I like it or not. Thanks again Michael! John W
