I've been considering getting a quick load spool for the M2. Are they worth the cost or just another gimmick? The old fashion way is a bit slow but if you're in a hurry the quick load seems the way to go.
 
The quick load is a bit faster than the original spool, I liked having it in 2's &3's
 
I watched a couple of YouTube videos and it seemed rather straight forward. Both videos declined to use the plastic thing that came with their spool, however, using just the spool itself instead.

I always use both the spool and the baseplate fitting.

You don't need to hold a loose part in mouth or drop it...
 
I decided to get one and found one that was NOS on ebay.

Yes and the Leica MP fast rewind crank makes rewinding easy as well!
