Anyway, back on topic... I love my B&W film and shoot with whatever the scene demands. TriX, Neopan, APX, Delta

Thats interesting point you make about what ever the scene demands. As a train photographer with B&W it depends upon the look you are trying to go for. If you want that classic 1950's B&W look with a US bent I always reckon that the Plus-X/Tri-X is the go (just a pitty that Plus-X is no longer avail in large formats) For many a year I have been scared off classic Ilford product (HP4/5) because it looked more milkier (no doubt caused than a higher base fog than Plus-X/Tri-X) or is this more a product of the setup of the user in question?

I came across this thread as a result of a response today after a gap of about 2 years. It seems that DavidS, the OP, had a fast and furious relationship with APUG over about 7 months and then disappeared/ left by mutual consent or something of this ilk.

So, just out of curiosity, what did happen to DavidS and is Inkedmagazine still going? I looked at the nature of the threads, the intensity of response etc and have concluded that his courtship of APUG did not result in "a marriage made in heaven". More like a divorce in Reno but this is pure speculation on my part.

Always curious about "whatever happened next" in such shortlived relationships.

Thanks

_Inked_ magazine became _Focus_ magazine, I think to avoid confusion with another magazine about tattoos.

David Spivak came and went under various aliases that he used to promote his publication, stirred up controversy to increase his visibility it seemed, and was ultimately banned.

He sometimes posts on the LF forum at lfphoto.info.

David. Thanks. My suspicions confirmed. It has happened before. It sounds like we need to beware any new kid on the block if he/she seems to be smitten by new friends before he has taken the time to get to know them.

"Cui bono" is a useful maxim
