I have a Mamiya M645, 1/500.

When you wind the crank, does it pop in the middle of it's action before it stops, sometime pop just before it stops.....?

Basically the feeling of winding is uneven. So is this normal?

Thanks.....

I've had a M645 for a pretty long time; I can't recall the wind crank making a "pop" sound before it stops it's cycle. If in good shape, it should wind evenly and smoothly. You might want to have it checked out. What's the film spacing like?

It's not really a pop, more like a click...like when the shutter cocks. Film spacing looks good....exposure etc. Just sometimes the shutter cocks halfway through the cycle, other times at the end.

I've got a 645 1000s, and that seems pretty normal to me. It doesn't "pop," but it becomes easier to wind after about a half-turn.
