Need help figuring out where this part goes (attached picture 2).

I labeled possible places where it might go (A,B,C,D) on the attached
picture 1 -- however I cannot seem to figure where it might fit.

I accidentally turned camera upside down (while in this heavy disassembly state), and this thing fell off.

Usually I take pictures and write everything I take off, down. But this part just fell off, and I do not have a picture of where it was before.

Any help/guidance is very much appreciated.

The reason why I took the whole thing apart, was to repair a wire that was corroded due to leaked battery.
OM 2n does not work without a battery, this had to be repaired. Once corroded, the wire was too short for me to solder it back.
So I had to open up the whole thing, just to get access to that wire (marked Z on picture 1, for those that are interested) to patch it up and lengthen it. I did that, but now due to this mystery part -- I cannot put the camera back up.
