I'll open a discussion on pyrocat, though it has probably been discussed at other times. What is it? Who makes it? and Why is it so highly touted--what makes it different? I certainly seem to see it quite frequently. I'm not new to photography, but I have only been back in the hobby for about a year after a long abscence. I use HC-110 for my processing---it keeps well, works very nicely as a compensating developer, and it's cheap.

Go here for some information on Pyro developers in general, and Pyrocat-HD specifically.
