Hi, I'm a film photography rookie. Recently I wanted to take some pictures in indoors enviroment so I loaded a Ilford Pan 400 and decided to shoot it at 1600. After a while I realised that my manual exposure correction dial was set to +1/2 all this time.
I do not develp film on my own and I just need to know what I should tell the lab man.
Should I just tell him that it was shot at 1600 and let him push it 2 stops? Won't the pictures be too bright? thanks you all

Since your camera was set to +1/2 exposure compensation, you want to tell the lab to push the film 1 1/2 stops, rather than 2 stops.

Exactly. But giving a 2 stop push probably won't hurt either. 400 speed films tend to be fairly mellow in terms of contrast, which would certainly be true for Ilford Pan400.

Won't the pictures be too bright?
In any scenario, pushing will result in sort-of alright contrast, but shadow detail will be compromised. So the shadows will be murky to entirely black no matter how far you extend development. The highlights might run away at some point, but the difference between a 1.5 and a 2 stop push in development will be marginal.
