I have my eyes on an Ansco 2A, and seller says the Actus shutter is operational, but it is very slow. and stays open for a while, and closes slowly.

I would like this to be an operating camera.

Can I assume that the now very old but simple(?) shutter can be (edit: soaked in solution and) re-lubed back to reasonable speeds?

Should there be weak inner springs, what are the chances of making new ones?

Bump to add that said shutter looks very much like the ones Wollensak was offering to OEMs at the time, around 1906-1916.

I'll know more when it gets here:happy:
