On cleaning the shutter the part in inserted image came loose.

Is it a flash sync? Where to place it...

This is from Zeiss Ikonta Novar 6x6.

Soaked the shutter in the lighter fluid (overkill) and saw this tiny part. After the shutter is dry, all speeds seems to work though I did not measure the time, including the self timer.
 
This is an unnamed Gauthier shutter on an Agfa Karat:

Haa...I see it. Its on self timer mechanism..
 
Still it is fascinating to watch how things go inside the shutter...

An engineering marvel indeed.
