I recently purchased a Flexaret III TLR. It was listed as having a non-working shutter; not a big deal, I've rebuilt dozens of leaf shutters, though mostly Compurs. I pulled it, found the self-timer was jammed (not a surprise), cleaned everything right down to the shutter blades, and reassembled. Everything works perfectly except for 1/5 and 1/10, which are much too fast.

Looking at the excellent photos here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/29504544@N08/albums/72157632623442946 I don't see any obvious problem with my reassembly. The strange thing is that the speed cam design seems to hold the escapement in a somewhat non-linear way compared to the Compurs I've worked on - the escapement seems to be held closer to the fast speed position when the cam is in position for the two problem speeds.

I'm sure I'm missing something that is probably obvious to anyone who's dealt with more Prontor/Gauthier shutters. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks.

Some leaf shutters are very persnickity about the location/alignment of the escapement. Little more than a hair's movement may make a difference.

I didn't move the escapement, but I don't think I'm the first one in there, so I'll loosen the screws and see what adjustment is available. Stand by.
