I have a small ongoing project around baobab (specifically the baobab seed pod or "fruit"). In the past I was involved in the sale of baobab products (mostly fruit pulp[dried] and seed oil[cosmetic]) from Africa, so had these samples in my garage. I thought I would use them as still life subjects in different scenarios. I did rent some of these to a professional photographer in New York at one point for props in putting together an ad campaign for a major cosmetic company. I think at that time (and potentially today), I was the only person in the USA known to have actual whole fruit/pod samples. I never did see the resulting pictures. I may try and discover them given my renewed interest in this.

Here is an album I put together for the project. I likely will add additional shots in the future. Please feel free to comment and critique. As of the posting date all the images are analog silver emulsion B&W film (scanned). I am more interested in the images than the technology, so I chose "workflow does not apply". In addition I do not want to preclude the possibility of adding a digital image in the future if it makes sense. I will post a few sample images in this thread.

Not sure why it is doing that, I did not restrict it. I used the category "workflow does not apply", so maybe if you have "Analog Only" set, you may be blocked (it is all analog). I will look more into it. Thanks for the interest. Please see the same album on Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/markjwyatt/albums/72157714663602022

It seems to have gotten 157 views (just checked), so still not understanding this.

Can you see the three images I embedded in post #2? If so, I think you should be able to see the gallery.

Thanks for your answer! I don't see the embedded images in post #2, only links that don't work. I checked analog, hybrid and digital on top of the page and that didn't change anything. Could it be because I'm not a subscriber?

Anyway, thanks for the flickr link. Lovely photographs. I love the composition and timelessness of "Baobab trapped"; the playfulness of "Baobab swinging" and "Presenting baobab" is my favorite. Can't really say why, there's something really beautiful about it. Wish you the best in the continuation of your project!

Thank you, Daniela. I am glad there is some mystery to it. There is for me also- i.e., I am not exactly sure why I am doing it, but I am having fun with it.

I think there is some link between using the gallery and being a paid member, but i thought that only related to uploading images. Glad you enjoyed them on Flickr.

Those images aren't in the Galleries per se, but rather in Albums.
It may be that when Sean opened up the Galleries to non-paying members, he left the Albums set to Subscriber viewing only.
I'll send a note to him via the Moderators.

Always glad to assist.
If only I had Sean handy to help me with my recent ISP problems!
