I seem to be getting a lot of pin holes in this film and just wondered if anyone else has had this problem. I soup in Rodinal 1:25 at 20C and only use water as a stop bath. I never had these problems with 35mm or any other film.

Any thoughts?

This is a problem with the film which has been discussed for many years on different internet photo forums. Not much you can do about it.

And just before anyone else suggests that the problem is due to air bubbles clinging to the film, aka. air bells, that is not the cause.

I know that Kodak has spent a fair amount of time in the past trying to resolve the problem but as far as I know they didn't.

Unfortunately this film will be gone soon so enjoy it whike you can.

I can only suggest to use the Rollei IR-400 120 rolfilm with the right IR filters (695nm or 715nm).
Different look than HIE, finer grain, anti-halo layer but a sensitivity till approx. 820nm. You can load and unload this film in subdue light.

Here is an article about it (German):

Robert
