Problem with tri-x and hc110 developer... how...?

Hello everyone!
I'm trying to figure out how i got these negatives after developing with Kodak hc110 diluition "B" (1+31) @ 20°C for 6m 30s with agitations each 30s
As you can see the grey and dark areas, once blown out, seem without details, like someone used a black marker
I then scanned the negative on my Epson v550 using only the ICE dust removal technlogy. But seems that the problem is on the negative to me... although it might be also on the scanner? I really don't know
It has never happened to me with hp5 developed with Ilfosol 3 and then scanned

What has caused the problem and how can i put an end to it?

You can't use the ICE dust removal feature of scanners with standard B/W film. The silver grains look like dust to the scanner. Maybe that's your issue. Your developer time/temp/dilution combo sounds about right for Tri-X at box speed.

What was the lighting in the first photo? And how did you determine the exposure?

ICE doesn't work with bw films, you have to disable it. It only works with C41 and E6 films.

100% agree with the previous posters. Turn off ICE when scanning B/W film.

I am glad it is resolved. My next question is for the mods. As the issue had nothing to do with Tri-X and HC110 in any way shape or form isn't there a case for either the deletion of the thread or an alteration of the thread's title such that in future searches the cause of the problem figures in the title and those with problems that concern the processing of Tri-X in HC110 do not have their time wasted by this thread appearing in the list of pertinent threads?

Sorry didn't wanted to waste your time If it can help clarify or organise this thread, I sincerely thought the problem was with the developing (that's why I attached the negative). So yeah, the question was about developing and the answer about scanning Thank you again!

No need to be sorry, Thrain. It was a legitimate question you asked. As I said, my post is directed at the mods who can alter the thread's title so it has a connection with what you have now discovered is the solution based on helpful posts, namely switching off the ICE on your scanner. This may be the better solution rather than a straight deletion and will still give others in the future who use ICE relevant information

Otherwise, they aren't likely to see the request.

Btw try HC-110 Dil B using 8:30 at 68F as a starting point dev time w/ 1 minute agitation intervals. You might find it gives you a little better tonality.
