problem with c41 dev

I have those spots on several frames on my last batch of c41 development , i use jobo cpe2 and fuji chemicals for many years without major problems , what do you think went wrong ? Kit is open since 11/2017 stored in cool place .

Chemical splash of some kind. Could happen if the developer is poured in and splashes hit the emulsion. I'm not familiar with how the CPE2 works to know how likely this is to be a developer splash. Looks to me like the activity/strength of the developer is OK.

Could water drops have been in the film tank, before the film was loaded?

I think no but even if they did , can water cause stains ?

2% acetic acid stop. I had exactly the same spots on some negatives when I still did rotational development with the Jobo (w/o lift), but would have to check my records what exactly worked as remedy, I guess it was one of the options mentioned by PE above.

Thank you guys my new process will be

1. Wet the film for 30 seconds to 1 minute in tempered water

2. Developer

3. Stop 30 seconds to 1 minute

4. Bleach

5 8 – 10 water rinses (at least 30 seconds per rinse).

6 Fix

7. 8 – 10 water rinses (at least 30 seconds per rinse).

8. Stabilize
