I was simply making a point that there is occasionally a "complaint" type of thread that once resolved to the satisfaction of the OP might be justifiably "put to bed" A bit like a complaint that a member never gets an answer from a "repairman" who then is told the number he was dialling was incorrect and the correct number is :XXXX which he finds to be correct for his required contact

However what you have confirmed, koraks, is that it is not Photrio policy to ever regard any thread as closed and if that's the case then I see little point in raising it elsewhere. It is not a reportable thread in any sense of what I understand to be any part of justifying my reporting it and I do not understand how simply raising it under Feedback Forum achieves anything

Either raising this in the thread that describes one of those threads that in my opinion might be eliminated without harm to Photrio, the OP or those contributing makes sense to me and is worthy of Photrio's consideration or it isn't

If it isn't one of those worthy of Photrio's consideration then so be it

A possibly useful idea ...

A recent software update to another forum I read has a feature to point out time gaps in a thread. I don't know what the threshold is to trigger it, that may even be configurable. When a post pops up after some span of inactivity, the grey horizontal margin between posts expands and a small white box appears containing "2 months later ..." (or in one case I found, "18 years later..." !!!)

That helps flag the occasional entry versus a continuous stream.

That isn't what koraks said, nor is it Photrio policy.
But it is Photrio policy to discuss issues like this in general, in a separate thread in the Feedback section.
It is fine to post in a particular thread that it seems that that thread could be closed.

In the US the seller must ship within a specified time period or they cannot charge the card. If the delivery takes longer than the time period the funds must be refunded or the seller has to request approval to continue the sale.

Since the start of the shortage of C41 colour film there have been adverts from one pro outlet in UK that they do not have such and such colour film in stock, but invite you to place an order and you will receive the film when it is available (No date of expected delivery was mentioned) but they will will charge you debit or credit card when you order. Then all of a sudden this part of the advert disappeared so someone must have made a complaint.

So after reviewing the thread, including the fact that there have been no further problems with the retailer come up in the two months since the original issue was resolved, we have:
1) amended the title, to change the reference to a "problem" and to reflect that the problem was eventually resolved; and
2) decided to close the thread.
If someone has similar concerns in the future about Bristol Cameras, they are free to start a new thread, at which time we will also be free to consider merging the old thread with the new.
