Hello there
I have just made an "interesting" find while scanning a recent batch of 4x5 foma 100. Has anybody got a glue what those swirly patterns in the scanned image stems from? I am aware of the rectangular shapes - they are the result of me having placed the film with the emulsionside against the holder of the Mod54.
I find the error quite intriguing and hope someone has an idea of what might have coursed it.
I hope this is the right place to post. I have scanned only for the sake of problem-solving and don't consider it part of a hybrid workflow.
Info:
Fomapan 100, 4x5.
No pre-soak.
Developed in Diafine for 5 minutes A and 5 minutes in B. Gentle inversions + "rolling" of tank for 5 sec every 1 minute.
Rinsed in plain tapwater for 30 seconds.
Fixed for 4 minutes, 10 seconds of inversions every 30 seconds. (1 liter of fix reused from one earlier batch of 4x5).
Rinsed with tap water.
Final rinse with demineralised water+flow.
(scanned on Epson V700)
