Is it destructive to image quality to print through the base of a 35mm negative versus having the emulsion side down? I may embark on some duping processes that result in flipped images. I'm wondering if it's worth another dupe to straighted the image out, or if I should just print through the base.

it can yield ever so slightly softer results - but there are lots of times I've needed to do that - and for the pursposes - perhaps a small price to pay. It varies from being completely imperceptible to 'only just'...

I would procede with caution, reversing certain negatives could cause your brain to explode!
Why didn't I do that before?

In anything but the most critical of applications, it should not make a difference. It has never done so that I have seen in a print, but the most I have ever enlarged when doing this is 8x linearly.
