Hello,
are there any sites/books that would show me some advanced darkroom work?

I mean something like this:
Dead Link Removed

I found some examples in Les McLean's book and I've got Larry Bartlett's Black and White Photographic Printing Workshop on it's way, but I'd like to see more.
Any tips?

Good books

Hello,

There are many good books however the two that would rate the highest on my list are

  1. Tim Rudman's Master Printing Course (out of print I think but still obtainable)
  2. Way Beyond Monochrome by Ralph W. Lambrecht and Curtis Woodhouse
Check these links for more information

From a personal viewpoint, Tim Rudman and Roger Hicks are two very bright photgraphers/darkroom experts from whom a great deal can be learned.

Way Beyond Monochrome is a great hands on practical approach book for helping to improve a person's darkroom skills.

Cheers,

Jim

Neither websites nor photomechanical repro can do full justice to subtle differences, so differences are often exaggerated for publication.

Cheers,

R.

Thank you all, I'll check if the books are what I'm looking for and do a little shopping

  1. Just to say Jim (and all) that although the original is out of print after many reprints, the newer revised version came out only about 2(?) years ago and is still in print.
    Thanks for the recommendation
