I did a very sobering test. read somewhere that all you need in image resolution to print is 300dpi/viewing distance in feet and according to my test results, that is true.Yes, a 30dpi image printed and viewed from 10 feet looks just fine. You don't always need 300dpi images for printing. It's often overkilland just takes longer to process and print. Now Isee how tey print billboards from iphone images:laugh:

hi ralph

a friend who worked at a high-end lab once told me
that i didn't even need 300dpi images to print ( i am talking 8x10 ish size )
and if they were 72dpi, and i increased the size by changing the percentage in the printer
the images would come out fine, as good as a 300dpi image.
so i tried it, i took a small image, and enlarged by changing the % and
the printer interpolated and enlarged and printed the final image.
and he was right !

I came to the same conclusion and dropped to 200dpi for all framed artwork because, it will never be viewed from closer than 1 foot.
