I have mentioned before I have just bought an Epson P600 printer. I used the cartridges that came with the machine and two days ago I had two of them run out of ink at the same time. (Lt Magenta and Photo black). I also bought at the same time as the printer, a continuous ink system where they supply you with a customised set of 9 empty cartridges and 125cc each of all the colours, the idea being you charge these cartridges then insert them into the machine as soon as the original ink starts to run out. You must use the original inks first.
I followed the instructions to the letter and inserted the cartridges and switched on the machine. There was a message I was told to expect, in that the cartridges were not genuine Epson did I want to continue. I pressed yes. So far so good! The machine did a head clean and then an error showed on the printer stating it did not recognise all the colour inks and the photo black. To cut a long story short I tried every which way to get the printer to recognise them. but failed. I then found a link to change to default settings and this almost sorted it out and all the inks were now recognised apart from the Photo black.
Then on the monitor the utility page appeared showing all the inks as being OK, so I printed off a head check sheet and it was perfect, but on the status window of the printer the indication was the Photo Black was not recognised.
I have since printed off 3 A3 images, 2 of which were black and white and there does not seem to be any error at all.
Any thoughts on this,is it likely to be a printer or a cartridge fault?
