I'm a little upset at the moment.

I was trimming my prints for the Group Print Exchange so that I could get them dry mounted tonight and in the mail tomorrow and my cheap ass trimmer just ruined the prints.

The thing didn't cut straight. It's not off by much, but enough to make the prints look bad once they are mounted and matted.

Can anyone recommend a high quality and accurate print trimmer?

I was looking at the Kodak M3 Pro http://www.calumetphoto.com/ctl?PAG...=KK9210&ac.cat.CatTree.detail=y&type=PRDINDEX

Does anyone have experience with this model?

Thanks!

Jim

Never used a Kodak. I have a Rototrim. It cuts very well, but it wasn't square when I bought it. I had to put my own square edge on it. After about 20 years of service, I just had it resharpened, but they didn't square it then either.

Anyway, probably a nice trimmer, but check it for square.

Jim, I bought an Omega Mediacut earlier this year and it is pretty much like the other good ones. Had a Dahle, but it was a bit on the cheap side IMO. Since I wanted one that could handle at least 24 inch cut, but did not have the $$ for the Rototrim went with the Omega. Gravel is correct about being square, though no matter what you get check it first. Don't know for fact but the Kodak sure looks like a Rototrim - from what I've heard though they are nice.

I use the "stuff been laying around" trimmer - X-Acto knife, steel straight edge, and drafting triangle. Somewhat tedious, probably not as fast as some methods, cheap, available.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

I decided to go ahead and get the 36" Kodak trimmer.

I'll let you know how it works.

Thanks again,

Jim

Rotatrim. There is no substitute.

Well the trimmer arrived from Calumet today.

So far I'm impressed with it. It is "square" out of the box and gives nice clean cuts.

At this point I would recommend it for anyone looking for a quality trimmer.

If any problems with it arise I will post this info.
