How about agreements to trade blindly, meaning that, someone like me, who can't post a photo because I have no scanner, may be able to trade with anyone who is willing? Just a thought and I understand if it is not such a good idea or otherwise convolutes the process.

Jason, Great idea. Look forward to find a fool that would want one of my prints.
In all seriousness it is a good oportunity to get a chance to see real prints made by other forum members and not just small thumnail jpegs.

I think that's the beauty of a model like this, you agree on certain terms between two traders. It doesn't have to be exactly the same rules every time, except what the moderator has stipulated, and that gives a lot of flexibility.

I hope Jason agrees...

Jan,

I'll trade with you... I have enjoyed many of your prints, even as little jpegs...

Thanks all. I have put up some guidle lines, but they are just that, guide lines, not holy writ. The whole thing is going to evolve as we all figure out what works. The general idea is to get a little action going with persons trading prints about. There is an APUG print exchange gallery, but it is hardly used. The idea is that active threads with new posts showing up in the que will stimulate interest and participation. The difference here is that you get to see what is available, and make choices according to your tastes and desires.

I posted Spun Aluminium to get things started. Now maybe something happened to Bruce when he was very young, that involved one of the lamps, and so he's not really interested. The sight of the print makes him feal uneasy, but he has a print he wants to trade, he just doesn't want mine. The idea would be for Bruce to pick a print he would be willing to trade and start a thread for just for it, and see what offers comes up. The image could be thumbnailed in the post as I did, or maybe added to the print trade gallery, with a link in the post.

That is just my idea of how it could work. In any case I'm sure we can work together to find a way to trade prints around, and all benefit from the exchange of our work. I certainly love seeing some of the prints I see posted up here for real.

I have revised the guidlines. Persons interested in a print from a trade offerer should PM the poster if interested. This should help keep things from feeling competitive.
