I still use cadmium artist colours. They're fine.

On cadium....

There is a company who make kitchen range cookers called "Aga". These are highly prised status symbols in English domestic kitchens, especially farm houses but also trendy London appartments these days. I had a discussion with them about colours a few years ago. They made a lovely Claret colour cooker. When I enquired whether the electric version was available in Claret colour, I was told no NO. When I asked why not becasue the same oil fired version was available in Claret, I was told that the enamelling colouring contains cadmium and under the European Union directives cadmium was not allowed in eletrical goods but the Oil fired version didn't fall under the same regulations so they could continue to use cadmium in the enamel colouring. Exactly the same enamelling on both electric and oil fired versions...

Go figure.
