I'd been thinking my pentax 645 wasn't getting much use now so when I saw a CL ad looking for medium format gear I offered mine. Original 645 with 2 120 inserts 1 220 insert all with cases test back body cap eyecup . 2 lenses the 75 and 150 manual focus and bag to carry it in for $440. I thought it fair . After 3 days of half assed communication from him he doesn't want to spend that much and wants to pay less. One of his main complaints with it is full manual control with the first model is a pita. Agreed but the metering is so good normally no need to override unless you're shooting severe backlighting . then I just compensate with the iso button quick and dirty but it works. With all that said was I overpricing it or he just cheap? I told him good luck and if wanted full manual easy look at the rb or mamiya 645 but I don't think they'd be cheaper.

pricing is hard these days -- and medium formats of the 645 variety seem especially hit hard. I paid $120 each for a new-ish Mamiya 1000 body and 55mm lens. Was astonished at how cheap they were until I realized how insular the system is -- lenses only work on those bodies, nothing else. Without the Hasselblad charisma, prices suffer.

On the other hand, many times when someone ways "that costs too much" what they really mean is "that's not really what I want but if it were cheaper I might take it anyway."

Saw a guy recently who said he paid several thousand for a Leica M3 -- admitted he clearly overpaid but was very happy anyway.

Keep trying. If no bites after a while go the Dutch auction route, or perhaps find a local college that still teaches film and needs a tax-write-off donation.

I traded a Fuji 645 folder (decent shape w/box/case/manual) for the exact(!) kit you have, right down to the film holders and type. This was some years ago but in case that gives you some relative value...? I like the Pentax but have used it very little for some reason.

Look at the KEH prices, they are realistic.
