Does anyone know where I can find a history of The Premo Cameras from Rochester Optical Co. online?.I'm particularly looking for info about the #8 Kodak Premo.

Thanks,

Doug:smile:

What do you want to know in particular, I can see if I've got a catalog from them somewhere.

Thanks for replying athanasius80,I'm looking for general info on the plate cameras of this name, specifically the #8,of which I own one.Its for a presentation to a group of wannabe camera enthusiasts one of which spotted me taking pictures with it of a heritage building here in T.O.I've found that these cameras came in three sizes:3 1/4 x 5 1/2 (3A),4x5 and 5x7.I also am looking for a short history of the Rochester Optical and Camera Company before and after Kodak aquired it.Also the start and stop production dates and any other info you have would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Doug

Ok. I'll see what I can find. Is yours for film packs or plate holders? What format? What lens and shutter? I'll hit the catalogs when I get in from work tomorrow.

athanasius80:the camera I have takes both film packs and plate holders. Both came with the camera. The lens is a Bausch and Lomb 3 1/4 x 5 1/2 Planatograph in a Kodak Ball Bearing shutter.

Hope this helps.
