In preparing to order some Ilford paper developer from B&H, I noticed that the description for PQ Universal states: "This developer gives a slightly warm of neutral image tone with most papers." I'd not heard that before, and yet that would be a very attractive feature if it has such an effect on Ilford MGIV FB. (I usually use Ilford Paper Developer which is quite neutral.)

Has anyone used this stuff with MGIV and noticed a difference with other developers? What then happens to the cast when that print is toned in selenium?

I find Ilford PQ Dev to be slightly warm toned on MGFB

A fraction more than regular Ilford MG Dev

But as Ian says - its no where near as warm toned at Ilford Warm Tone

Don't know about Selenium toning
