All I can remember is that one is supposed to be easier to dissolve than the other, but I don't remember which is which.

I think the granular may be the easier to disolve, the powder just sat on the surface and took considerably longer to disolve than the other ingredients. I followed Dans' advice and used powder as I would have had I the granular.
