I want to craft an liquid optical filter which is A4 size and LCD thin. My ambition is to have a aide for water color work and photograph work.

- Does neodidymium powder and perchloric acid is too much dangerous ?

- Are they cheap ? What is the mixing ratios ?

- Can I seal the liquid in thick transparent acrylic housing ?

Is there a safer material way to craft that filter , replacing perchloric acid with safer one ?

Thanks,

Umut

Perchloric acid is very nasty stuff. Not only is it a strong acid but also a powerful oxidizer. It can explode on contact with organic material.
