posters?

I'm not sure which area to post this question in -- this may be the closest.

Does anyone know of a good source for printing posters? I'm looking to print a few different posters with a combination of text and images. I want something very high quality that would be frame-worthy if the buyer was so inclined with at photo reproduction. I don't want to get stuck pre-ordering a thousand of them -- maybe runs of 50 or 100 or so.

I did a google search, but that was a dizzying experience. A HUGE price range, and of course I can't tell the quality at all via the web.

Somewhat off topic, I know, but I just thought I'd see if anyone had any advice. Thanks in advance.

try cpq or candid 2000, possibly whcc (?). I know that at least one of the "wedding" printers has some pretty good pricing on digital 4 color offset printing.
