Dear All,

I have been away on holiday ( to Edinburgh..and used my new SFX 200 for the first time ! ) and picked up my post this morning, what did I find...5 postcards from around the World from Apuggers...what a lovely surprise ..so many thanks to Michael, Jake, Peter, Mick, Peter and Ingobohn...for making my day, I have to say the quality was outstanding, but the quality of the image from Mick in Australia was truly breathtaking...( the best I have ever seen on ILFORD postcard paper).

Thanks

Could you post it for the rest of us to see? Perhaps we need to start a "Postcard gallery"

We already have a postcard gallery but you have to be a subscriber to see the galleries.

I will eventually scan the actual postcard, but scanning and posting online, is for me, the lowest priority in photography.

I only bought a scanner last year, it's one from Aldi and the software that came with it is all I use, therefore the image one sees online is only a reasonable facsimile of the original. I am not really interested in becoming much more than functionally proficient, in scanning.

Perhaps this thread may encourage others who are able, to participate in exchanging actual photographs.

I have participated in a number of postcard exchanges and found the breadth of work to be quite stimulating, but the best part is that I get to keep a photo album that I can sit in my favourite chair and peruse at my leisure.

jstraw, fear not that you will be inadvertently exposed to an online version of the original, which is currently enroute to you, via the postal services of the world!

Mick.

Oh no it's not!

It's right here next to my laptop and I concur with Simon.

I guess I will have to get some postcard paper and get in on the fun. It's 4x6, isn't it? I suppose a person could contact-print a 4x5 on it.

Dear All,

Yet another PC this morning.....and when you think of it the paper is coming home !! : This time from Peter of the Abbey near Prades in Languedoc ( Fr )
very nice image.

Thanks

Somehow, I feel another Ilford special order for my local retailer coming on, this time for postcard paper. Is it available on this side of the pond?

My local photographic supply store says it will no longer be carrying postcard paper. Why, I don't know. Bloody idiots! Guess I won't be shopping there anymore!

Dear all,

And another this morning from Mark S in the USA....many thanks, I will be putting them all ( and any subsequent deliveries from the Royal Mail ) on the ILFORD Photo reception notice board...I have to say I am amazed at the qualitly of the images taken and also the quality of the printing.

You Apuggers are good................the 3 p's obviously applies

I'm delighted to hear that you'll be sharing them with the other folks there.

Dear Michael,

They are all pinned up, and another card this morning from Jonathan in Alaska...which really did make me laugh...a moose calf eating a tree...what is it with Moose ? if any animal was designed by a committee it has to be a moose... and if thats a calf I would certainly not like to meet its Mum or Dad on a dark night !

Regards
