I have a small question about the assignment process. I seem to remember that you use some sort of program to do so randomly, and I wonder if it'd be possible to change it up a bit. I say this because I see that for the second or third time in a row I get the same members in my mailing list. I don't have a problem with this (I appreciate their work!...although I do wonder if they get sick of getting my photos), but I would love to be able to exchange with others as well. It might not even be possible, but throwing it out there just in case.

The shuffling may give preference to those who sign up for Max. Since you sign up for 5 and the people who sign up for Max want to exchange with the greatest number of people, your 5 should be assigned to people who sign up for Max first. ("All" is easy, since it's sending to everyone on the list.)

(That's just a guess, but it's how I'd sort it.)

The software is not as random as I'd like. Don was on the right track, names are sorted by number then assignments are made. I'm still using the software I inherited many years ago. i had planned on rewriting it, but many things have got in the way. It's still on my to do list but a few things are ahead of it.

Three rounds a year. Sign up is one month, printing/sending/receiving the next two, then a month off. January should be sign-up again.
