It is a bit of work, but it's a labour of love. And when those postcards start coming in the mail it's when the fun starts.

I've sent the address list, if you don't get a copy in your email, yell out!

P.S. It's 36, so have to send 35 cards! Now you'll know what it's like to be a 1hr lab!

Okay, time to try out that 4x5" 4-up proofing easel I picked up on eBay a few months ago, and I bought a Metrolux timer from Jim Moore, so I'm ready.

The last time the list got to 40 participants or so, before we instituted "rounds," the postcard exchange kind of ground to a halt (for those who weren't here then, under the old "system" participants just printed up a batch of postcards whenever inspiration struck, and there were no deadlines or start and end points--just an ever-growing list). We should watch how it goes, but maybe if the list is going to be this big, we should lengthen the time between rounds.

Was there a rough deadline for mailing them?

I just got up from the Dungeon printing up postcards. Now I have to address them and stamp them but the post office tells me the new postcard stamps won't be available till the 6th. Oh well thats soon enough. Mines going to be a mix n match so if anyone has questions you'll have to ID the image for me before I can tell you anything. I intend to write a blurb about the shot on back so that shouldn't be much of an issue.

Slow down please; I havn't found a negative worth printing yet.

Are you going to riddle me with guilt by having your masterpiece delivered first?

That goes for me as well! Have to find a neg that has little or no burning/dodging to print. Just having the plumbing fixed in the darkroom that I use so no printing right now.

Masterpiece or mess? Heh! Some of my cards aren't perfect but they were fun to do. They were all from 4x5 negs I was printing already so it was pretty easy to reset for that size and do a few more as postcards. My biggest gripe with them is the fiber paper dried wavy, even after ironing them in the drymount press.

Finally got mine all off, had to go to another post office branch to find the new "Buckeye" 24 cent stamps. Found out the international postcards had to have a 75 cent stamp on them. And I got my very first postcard today, from Shmoo!

That was fast! I sent it from my brother's place in San Diego on Wed! I wonder how long it'll take to get to the UK, Europe, Australia, and beyond?

I've got most (~ %70) of mine printed, I just need one more printing session to finish up - and i've already gotten one in the mail too. Mine should hit the road by next weekend or so.

wow Shmoo, very speedy for someone dobbed in by someone else! I'm impressed!

I started, but my cyanotype's washed away to almost nothing... might make another attempt this weekend or else it's going to be the fallback option, normal postcards... at least I can manage to get something on them!

Sharon,
Wow, this made my day - the first postcard print I have ever gotten :D . I wish I could have been more prepared, but alas I won't have paper until the end of next week. I do believe I have my negative picked out though.

Thanks again,

Please cross out kwmullet on your postcard lists.

With apologies to shmoo (from whom I've already received a postcard) I'll have to leave the postcard exchange. It doesn't look like I'll be able to do what I need to do to get the postcards out, and it's already halfway through the "send" month.

I think what I'll have to do is just generate postcards next time before I even ask to be added to the list.

Apologies,

-kwmullet

Mick Fagan - today I received your postcard and it's a very beautiful portrait! I'm sure I've seen this somewhere before. Stunning! Thank you very much. Kind regards, Nicole

Just got home from work to find my first post card waiting for me, thank you Sharon! You picture brought back a lot of memories. My Dad lived in San Diego for a few years, I went to Belboa park several times when I was visiting him - I seem to remember seeing the Welsh male voice choir at the Spreckels Organ...

I've (finally) selected my negative, and should have my postcards printed this coming weekend and sent out next week.

Ben.

Sharon, I received your postcard yesterday. Great picture and glad to see another Rolleicord user. I should be starting to print mine this weekend.
