One more arrived in the mail today. Fast Train by Tel.
Nice shot of the blur, hard to get on a 57 camera. The bridge must swing or something, at least it looks to me like a gear/wheel along the bottom.
That's a nice card stock!!
Hi Rob. You're right--it's an old swing bridge that probably hasn't swung since the 1920s. The bridge dates from around 1850. I set up on the towpath of the canal that runs under the bridge. The only obstacle to shooting was joggers stopping to look at my camera. The card stock is two sheets of Epson Luster glued together back-to-back with photomount; I wanted to make sure the postal service couldn't mangle it. (PS: looking at my mailing list, I think I misspelled your name on the address--profuse apologies!)

I recieved a nice card from Todd Barlow yesterday. "Abandoned Dock" a low key print of some old withered woodwork. With some nasty nails (or spikes?) on the lower railing. Very nice, thanks Todd. And welcome to the exchange, it is indeed a great activity.

I received four postcards over the weekend:
Tree and Shadow by mfohl on Ilford RC paper taken with a Nikon FM2. This is a really interesting print. It's never easy to capture light and shadow as effectively as in this print.
Old Stones-Avebury, Wiltshire UK by Michael Howard. This lovely print brought back happy memories for me. I lived near there in the late 90's and I visited the stones on many occasions. The isolated three stones capture effectively the mystery of the stones.
South Spanish Coast at La Cala del Moral by henryjjames.I really like the tones on this print. Henry is obviously a skilled darkroom printer.
Isaak Siemen by Rob Skeoch. Taken on a Nikon F3/T and a Nikkor 85mm and HP5 this wonderful print for me was reminiscent of August Sander. It's simply a great print. And what a great series to be working on.

Just received @mfohl's "Abandoned building". Beautifully crisp print of an abandoned garage with tree shadows falling on it. Thanks, Mike!

Ooh, so much to look forward to, yet
My prints are underway as well, by the way. European addresses might receive them at any moment, now. Transatlantic mail will probably take a little longer.

After the long weekend (and I think the mail carrier took the second half of last week off), three postcards in the mail, today.
Abandoned Building by @mfohl - a great shot of tree shadows on a white garage. Going out to photograph abandoned farm buildings is a something I do with my brother once a year. Very nice.

Old Stones - St, James Church by @Michael Howard -- with some very old-looking vertical tablet headstones in a churchyard. The brightness of the sky offsets the gloominess of the foreground.

Tabacchi by @koraks. A colour 5x7 of a closed storefront in Sicily. Enlarged Vision 250D -- I would've expected the colours to be messed up. It's interesting to see buildings like that, since nothing here is built that way.

Thank you, all.

Not one, not two, but three postcards came today.

First, from Krefey, by far the largest postcard I've received. A mounted 8x10 print with the postcard elements on the back: address, stamp, message. "Ascent O Monte Elmo, view of the main Alpine ridge", a beautiful mountain view of the Alps. A nice rock structure in a beautiful composition. My wife asked if there was a person on the rock. I think not. Anyway, a great addition to the collection.

Then, a nice 5x7 (unmounted) print from Daniela. "Jeu de Paume" a nice photo of a detail of the art museum in Paris. Two columns with a hand (Paume) on the side. I'm happy to say I've been to the museum once or twice, but haven't noticed that detail. I'll be sure and look for it next time.

And then, from Jim Christie, some cool graffiti on a staircase at a market in Seattle. The art(?) appears to be from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. And the coup de grace is the raccoon peeking out from under the stairway. Very cool, a place to visit more than once.

Thanks Thorsten, Daniela, and Jim! Good stuff!

Thanks! The hand sign was only there temporarily for a particular exhibition, so it's sadly gone now.

I do hope you get to visit JDP again, they have cool stuff going on this and next year: Julia Margaret Cameron, Tina Modotti and Johan van der Keuken, who is completely new to me, but wow, can't wait to discover more about him.

PCX#59 received on July 4 and 5:
Truly lovely images, this whole PCX is an awesome initiative!

July 5 - henryjjames - South Spanish Coast at La Cala del Moral - Beautiful scene nicely executed composition and tones, and the timing of the waves and the contrail in the sky, well done!
July 5 - mfohl - Abandoned Building - Golden hour makes all the difference, assuming early morning or late afternoon sun that casted the shadows on the door. Well seen, timed and executed!
July 4 - Michael Howard - OldStones - Beautiful composition and printing, I especially like the hidden figure!
July 4 - koraks / Raphael - Red Wall - I love this subject and while I default to B&W I think this really works well in colour, nicely done!
June 30 - Rob Skeoch - Isaak Siemen - Great idea for a series and well executed, I love the sharpness and detail!
June 27 - AnselMortensen - Abstract - Absolutely wonderful. Composition, texture, contrast, it speaks to me!
June 14 - Pitotstock - A Simple Still Life - Inspiring as well modern materials with vintage look, well done!

Sent out 5 more today. Should be able to finish printing the last of what I still need to send by the end of the week, and get them all sent out next week.

BTW @henryyjjames to clarify, I got both a domestic US address and a European address for you, I should send to the US one, correct?

Received another one today, mshchem's "Giant Weed Wacker". And a giant one it is, on the side (or front?) of a small railroad tender. I may have seen one this big on a truck for the side of the road, but not one for the railroad. Cool shot, nicely printed. Thanks!

Yeah, this machine is on a short line, the cutters extend out at least 12 meters on both sides. Enormous flails that cut or shred brush/trees as big as your arm.
