A little bit more about my cards: Unlike virtually every other round, I have not provided any functional details on the postcards, so I'll briefly mention them here since there wasn't enough room to explain all of this on the card. All images were shot on my Nikon FE. Although this is a favourite camera of mine, it's not my main user when I travel. However, it was the only camera I bought on this trip (other than my Holga) because of extreme carry-on weight limitations - I figured I could get more images with 35mm rolls than 120 and save on weight and space in the process. However, since I hadn't used it in a while, I had some issues - like forgetting to change the film speed settings, not realizing that the battery was dying on me (it acted differently to my other FEs), and unfortunately, once I got home, I realized that many of my films were damaged in some way - different kinds of fogging mostly. I don't know if it was from the heat or x-rays or both. In any event, I have a lot fewer usable images than I had hoped because of all these issues. I'm still on the fence about how I feel about them. Still, I had great memories from the trip and wanted to share with everyone, so here we are.
I sent three different images this round, all from the same trip, but without giving anything away I'll just refer to them by abbreviation:
Postcard 1 (MP): Shot on Acros, was accidentally massively overexposed (but saved a bit in the processing in Xtol). Taken at sunrise. This location was the main reason for travelling here, and this is where my camera died absolutely (I left my spare batteries back at camp) so I have very few images to show for it. The main reason why I'd like to return here someday.
Postcard 2 (JB): Also shot on Acros, developed in Rodinal. In every respect this roll was okay, but there seems to be a bit of fogging happening here that gives it a bit of a toned/vintage look.
Postcard 3 (OD): Shot on Silvermax 100 and developed in Silvermax - first time shooting with the film and I have to say that I like it a lot. This image, in the contact print, looks very infrared-y, but I couldn't quite achieve the same look for the postcard. In any event I think I'll be shooting this film more in the future.
Cheers.
