There are some like that. To make it look like a postcard, you don't need much more than a ruled line between the text and the address area.

I was thinking more along the lines of postcards from the past. I have this past thing that keeps intruding on all my ideas. Part of my psychosis according to my wife....

Randy,

I'm glad you are participating in the postcard exchange. I saw your images in your personal gallery and you have some great photos. Please, please, pick either the lighthouse stairway or the parrot feather #2 image for the exchange. [ Just in case you can't decide which image to pick.] I'm sure whatever you pick will be equally fine. I really love spiral designs in photos.

one of the great and underutilized tools for the postcards are the rare 5x7 easels that I have picked up on ebay. The kind with the small adjustable arms. I have in the past 3 years won 4 of those things. I plan on using them for christmas presents to my photog friends, along with one of my precious boxes of postcard stock. What drives me crazy was not having one accessible when I was moving. So those who have gotten my last two cards know how ascew my printing was.

That sounds like a lot of fun, must be exciting to receive all those postcards. While I'm not in this round, I do have a question. Does each one send out 20 or whatever prints of the same photo, or are they different pictures?

Mix and match or all the same; your choice.

I'm envious of those of you who have already printed! I have had crappy light for the last two days. I'm hoping that tomorrow will be better. This really drives home how convenient it is to have a UV box...

Hi Randy,

Just curious. Have you picked an image to be printed? Is it a new photo we haven't seen in the gallery or one I voted for? I've got an infrared shot of a ride called the Zipper that's put aside for you. I can't wait to see all the different images.

we seem to have an eager bunch this round.. good!

still a week or so to sign up...

That sounds cool, thanks! As for my cards, I know that you liked a couple of prints I have posted in my gallery so I will likely send one of those. I wanted to do some hand colored cards, like travel postcards from the early 1900's, but I don't have time right now, too many projects! Maybe on the next exchange....

Nige,

As I'm one of the early printers for Round 5 how many more do I need? I printed some extra ones so I'm not too worried.

BWKate

Well I printed mine. I'm hoping 25 will be enough. If not I can get more.

oops, maybe I was counting the complete list inc those dropping out... we currently have 18!

What would be fun is if we had a seperate gallery for the postcards that are sent out. That way others could see what fun we are having and what we are getting. Just a thought. Yet if more joined in, it becomes a hardship trying to produce over say 25 at a time. So there are draw backs as well. Maybe when it hits a certain number it splits into two groups?

Don't post them to the gallery until the next round has been announced and the lists sent out. That way the element of surprise is still there.

Seems my email (sent on the 3rd) with the Round 5 participants hasn't gotten thru to everyone. If you've signed up but haven't received my email please PM me.

Received BW Girls card yesterday. Nicely printed snow scene. Mine are in the mail today.

I also like the idea Aggie has.

I got a lovely snow scene from BW Girl today, too, thanks!!

And to all participants of Round 5: my color processor crapped out on me three days ago, and I don't have a way to print right now, so my cards might be a little late. Bear with me if you would, can't wait to get to it!

Happy holidays y'all!
Imke

Thank you! I'm so glad you both liked it!

Mine are in the mail tomorrow. Curious how long it will take from my neck of the woods. I sent a print to Iceland on the 23rd of Nov. and it was received by Dec. 5th.
