Always looking forward to another round! Not sure when I’ll get into the darkroom though - October looks to be a really busy month for me.

I've posted out the first half dozen, I may send out some more colour ones , sadly a roll I shot at Calton Hill in Edinburgh got left behind at my parents' house ( I was really looking forward to seeing what was on that!).

Black Dog, your postcard arrived this afternoon (Thursday). You've captured a lovely texture in the tree bark in addition to the interesting engraving, which makes me wonder just how old some of those other markings might be. Thanks!

Thanks for appreciating it-there are some other carvings from 1949.

Received the first card of this round - 1944 (The carved tree) by Black Dog.
At first sight it looks like a photograph of a rock-painting and then tree bark can be recognized.
Interesting and unusual subject.

Thanks Mr Dog, yours arrived the other day. Great picture of the old tree baring scars of others identities.
Must get mine moving, they have been sitting in the draw for about a month. I'm a bit disillusioned with the postal service after sending 6 postcards to my daughter in Germany and her only receiving two. Hope they have a better postal service in Ireland when she moves there for awhile next month.

Received the first card from Black Dog, "Shades of winter", lovely winter landscape arriving at the right moment, first week of snow. I have started my printing session, test prints made yesterday and production starts tonight.

Ah, that's technical stuff (widgetery?) from when I was printing them. IIRC I used Ilford Cooltone FB for this image, developed in Beer's VC developer and Selenium toned. I'm probably going to use Seagull for the final version , though the Cooltone will probably replace it when I run out. Usually my cards are printed on Galerie or Seagull if FB. I did actually go as far as printing out some labels once! Btw, I heard a good joke once about the definition of Absolute Zero once-it's when Canadians think about putting on coats.

I made a mistake on the label for my cards and my wife noticed the error only after I had labeled all my cards. So I had to "double label" them. Because of this my label trimming job this round is a little "rough around the edges". I hope you like the image. My cards will be in the Tuesday post (Monday is a holiday in the US).

An interesting mix of paper, dev and toner have been for this one.

Being early in the day when I received it yesterday, I started reading the text first, and thought that I had received my first postcard from the UK, as I saw the names 'Serpentine' and 'Surrey' mentioned. Turns out to have been taken in Surrey, BC and sent from Seattle, WA, so a bit off the mark there.

Thanks for being the first Matt, with another fine picture to add to my collection.

I have received two cards thus far during this round. The card from MattKing ("Overlooked") is nicely composed. I like the slight brown tone, it softens the image. The card from Black Dog ("Scout Scar #1") is interesting in several ways. The image has very little "high values", the wood and rocks morph, and there is a lot for the viewer to explore.

My cards are in the mail, and I look forward to seeing more postcards. I hope you like the image I selected for this round.

Thanks-that was exactly what I was looking for .The separation between the different elements should be even better in a larger print.

I'm happy to report that I have finally received my first two cards for this round in the mail today. First is MattKing's "Overlooked" a nice, evocative scene that draws the eye in. I also really like the colour that the toner gives here - it's just enough to be interesting without overpowering. The other is drpsilver's wonderful "Fuji Apple". I love the light and textures in this, and wish I could find Fuji apples like this in Japan (!) (they all come pre-wrapped in plastic here, not a leaf in sight).

I have to admit that I have yet to hit the darkroom to print, as I am currently dealing with a backlog of film to develop (around 50 rolls). All my weekends have been full with work-related activities but I'm hoping I'll have some time in early December to get my postcards done for this round.
