Sent mine yesterday. The woman at the post office said she liked the scene. Maybe you like it too.

Lars

I received a postcard from LarsAC in Germany this morning, despite the inches of snow already, with more to come I'm sure. So well done Royal Mail!

The picture is a pleasant scene, that yes I do like as well Lars. I won't say more as I'm probably the first to receive the card.

Many thanks.

As for my cards, they are all printed up and with the snow, it's a good day to stay in doors to fill the info in. Hopefully I will get them in the post soonish.

Since my last update, I've received two more cards:

LarsAC, a (disused?) hay cart next to old pollard trees (or is that thing just one tree? In which case it's quite big). Nice scene, nice print, much appreciated.
drpsilver, "Uniquely Bolinas". Made me laugh. In my mind I now see things that I just can't unsee. Thanks for that, I suppose . Not to mention, it's also a very nice print.

Thanks both!

Well, I managed both to fill my postcards in and get around to the local-ish Post Office yesterday = Tuesday 27 February 2018. So, I can now confirm that my offerings were put in the post by First Class / Air Mail. All of which is a long way of saying. 'I've sent my cards out'! :D

Have three post cards here,
Rachelle's Daishoin Temple, a night photo with many candles and lanterns lighting up the temple and a special light ribbon running along the length of it , just beautiful.
Krackers Honesty box, do they really work ? great story and photo.
Matt King and his found Jeepers Peepers or is that a FORD ?
DRPSILVER's humerus Uniquely Bolinas ,54 deg. would stop any naked surfing I'd think.

Thanks Mike

Mike, thanks for your kind comments. However, my card is for the last exchange (it was very late!). I have yet to print my cards for this exchange, but it will be the first thing I do when I get back to Japan.

Thank you Lars, I received your Postcard today.
Beautiful shot with tons of detail and interesting things going on. Thanks for using the Post Card paper as well. The only way to keep these specialty papers in production, is to use them.

I was really impressed with that one as well and loved all the subtle details.
Kraker's Honesty Box- a nice piece of dryly observed humour, in the same vein as DRPsilver's Naked Surfing (only in California as you say...)
Matt's Headlights-richly printed and again lots of subtle detail for the eye to appreciate. I'd love to see that on a nice DW warmtone fibre paper!

Glad you liked it!
I've received three very nice postcards so far.
kraker's "Honesty Box" - what a fun photo, and wonderfully printed too!
LarsAc's "Hay Cart" - a nice combination of shapes and textures, full of detail; and
drpsilver's "Uniquely Bolinas" - great fun, really interesting, and a nice print too. I wonder though - don't you need waves to surf? :whistling:

I came back home today, after one week doing tourism (and of course using lots of film!) in Marseille, and found:

LarsAC's cart and trees. Lots of details and nice scale, with a sense of peace from the countryside depicted.
drpsilver, "Uniquely Bolinas". Second card with a sign for this round (at the moemt it's an average of 50% cards with a sign ;-) ) . I like the stories one could imagine happeing there!

Thanks!

I finally have some time to comment on the 5 cards that I have received to-date. Here are my comments in to particular order.

Like many I have received my own card. The card from LarsAC is a nice image that allows the viewer to weave many stories. I like the detail in both tree and cart, and how the two interact. "Honesty Box" from kraker gives me hope that there are still some who believe in the goodness of human nature. I like how you kept the cars "soft" to emphasize depth in the photo. "Jeepers, Peepers" by MattKing in an unusual perspective on headlights, and very old phrase. The whimsical collection of ducks from rpavich made me smile. I can imagine them singing.

Thank you to all for sharing your work.

Regards,
Darwin

Received a COLOUR darkroom print from IANDVAAG today, even though there is no post to say it was posted.

As once before, it's great to receive a home processed colour print. Something I never quite got into.

The print is a small beach scene with a sky and sun that I would pay for in dreary old UK just now! :D

Many thanks Ian.

I received two more cards in the last couple of days:

"La Casa de Don Lupe" from D Dorich and the nice color card of Douglas Dunes from iandvaag.

Very nice!

Apologies to all, but it's looking like I won't be able to make the deadline for this round.

Just the typical "life got in the way" reasons, the main one being that I'm gearing up to start school again, and the preparation is kind of a pita...but I'd like to be finished by the time I retire, which, if all goes well, will be just over two years from now. Fingers crossed...

I had to move some darkroom equipment around, temporarily, which makes the workflow clumsy.

I have received a few cards and will comment on those when I get a chance, and I might be able to squeeze in a printing session this weekend.

Cheers,

Richard

Is there a deadline???:whistling:
I think that there is a target date.
I'm sure, Richard, that your cards will be worth the wait!

I too have received two more excellent cards:
iandvaag's "Douglas Dunes" - an atmospheric color darkroom print with an interesting viewpoint; and
djhopscotch's "La Cas de Dona Lupe" - nice repetitive patterns of something I am quite fond of - bottles of wine!:D

Hi everbody, it looks like I won't be done in time either, but perhaps I could print a little during this long weekend. I am still learning to print in a darkroom, so a couple of session might be needed. Thanks!

La Cas de Dona Lupe arrived. Did you drink all those. Did my invite get lost in the mail? Thanks for posting a fun image.
