The mailing lists have been sent, time to check your Inbox. As before a new thread for comments, updates and feedback. Let us know how you're doing and what you've received. Please check that your information is correct. Let me know as soon as possible of any corrections.

Please wait a few days for any corrections then let the mailings begin. There have been address changes so check carefully. Please check that your name is the first on your list.

Special Note: This will likely be my last round as coordinator. I will likely be moving house among other things this summer so continuing on may be difficult. If you are interested in taken over these duties please start a conversation with me. I'll add all interested to a common thread and give you as much info as I can. No great rush I'll be around for some time yet (I hope).

George

Just sent mine out yesterday. I realized I had forgotten to say who they were from so if you get one that says "Greetings from West Virginia!" it's me, rpavich.

Got my first card, but it probably shouldn't count, because I mailed it to myself (as I always do).
Which is a roundabout way of saying my card - titled "Jeepers Peepers" - is in the mail system(s).
Just a note to the recipients in Canada. While the notes on the back state "No toning this time" a couple of the cards going to Canadians are toned in sepia toner. I did some toning trials on a couple of cards, but came to the conclusion that I liked the un-toned ones as much as the toned ones. So all the US and international ones are un-toned, as are all but a couple Canadian ones. I didn't want to waste the toned ones, so if you received one, consider yourself lucky .
If my records are accurate, this is my 30th round. I need to figure out a more efficient way of storing the cards (I still have them all). The individual display albums take just too much space.

I haven't done any where as many rounds as you Matt, but I too have been contemplating how to store / present the postcards received so far. Therefore I'd be interested to hear how your or others on this forum store your cards?

Many thanks in advance.

I need to think about that also. I am only on my second round but I can see what's going to happen.

I set up a pattern of 25 frames that i rotate cards through, have them set up so half of the frames are portrait and half are landscape.

My cards are printed, toned, and ready to post. They will go out in today's or Tuesday's mail (Monday is a federal holiday in the US). Hope you like the image I selected.

Regards,
Darwin

Glad you like it Rob - and glad that it reached its destination 5000 km away.

My cards are in the mail, as of yesterday. As a result, just like Matt, I received my first card today. My own card, that is, as a check to see that cards have been collected. Hope the other 16 copies make it to their respective destinations soon.

Ha! I just got my first post card from round 43.
This was from dprsilver. I won't reveal the exact nature of the image, I don't want to ruin it for everyone. It's a nice looking shot, printed well, nice tones, interesting content.

Got my first two cards. Christmas decorations from Rpavich. I love the subtle grain in that double xx! Also it has good contrast and details for what appears to be a dreary winter day.

Jeepers Creepers from Matt King. Lovely dark tones in this print. It looks almost like a matte paper even though you said it was pearl. I agree that I like it better un-toned.

Received my first card, a bit worse for the wear, but that's all part of the postcard exchange:

MattKing, "Jeepers, Peepers", untoned works well for this scene, I really like this print, thanks.

I got the Christmas decorations as well-reminded me of the film 'Donnie Darko' ..a nicely strange feel about it!

I've got

Kraker's "Honesty box", nice capture and an interesting story. This concept would NEVER work in France I'm afraid.
Matt King's "Jeepers, Peepers". Did I already say I love "mechanical details" ? This one is lovely and the range of low values really shines here

Thanks !

Good to see the card made it to France. Sadly, the concept also wouldn't work in the Netherlands.

May be it works only on islands ;-)

Sent mine yesterday. The woman at the post office said she liked the scene. Maybe you like it too.

Received cards from Matt King and Kraker so far. Thanks!

Recieved two so far, Honesty Box and Jeepers Peepers. Thanks! My prints will be a little bit longer. Perhaps I'll get about to choose the picture this weekend and do a couple of test prints if I'm lucky.
