My darkroom is a currently a disaster zone (I'm re-arranging my entire apartment), but hopefully I can get in there within the next month. I can't wait to get printing again - the postcard exchanges often get me back in there after too long of a hiatus.

Note to self: if you go on holiday in September, don't forget to check APUG/Photrio before the end of the month. Oh boy, missed sign-up by a few days. Well, boys and girls, have fun this round, I'll set a reminder for round 43.

My cards are printed. All I need to do is label them and get them to the post office. Since Monday is a holiday in the US (Columbus Day), they will begin their journey to you on Tuesday.

Regards,
Darwin

Well I've decided on the image and taken some test shots, just have to get it all set up for real. Should be able to get it all done by the end of next week.

NOTE!!!

I'm still receiving postcards (thanks to my local post office) which are INCORRECTLY addressed.

George sent out an update to everyone, but some people obviously didn't get it and I might not be the only one who sent a correction to him.

So, just in case you get me again, the important part is the street / road name.

It SHOULD be: EastCOTE and NOT EastGATE as on some cards that I've received.

As I said, thanks to my local PO!

Thanks to George and everyone involved though, as I really enjoy receiving work from you from all, from all around the world. :D

ARGHH!

I didn't bother checking my equipment before I got ready to print...I don't have an easel which will give even borders on the cards.

My large adjustable easel won't adjust down far enough, my 4-in-1 doesn't have anything close, and my 4x6 speed ezl isn't long enough (it leaves nearly an inch hanging over...

So I'm going to have to improvise and cobble together a cardboard tape-hinge contraption.

I could just use the speed ezl and cut the cards down, but there's something about not using the full space that just bothers me.

Cut the paper before you print on it, and use the 4x6 speed ezl.
The extra fragments of paper are useful for test strips.

Ok, printing is done. I ended up just using the speed ezl.

I tried making an impromptu arrangement using a piece of glass from a frame, but it totally screwed up the contrast...wasted a card. I got exactly 22 printed, so George, I'm going to just send you a 5x7 in an envelope since B & H still has the cards on backorder.

I tried to get everything centered and split the difference on the borders by feel - I got pretty close, for the most part. My safelight is very dim and trying to cut the cards before printing would've been a royal pita. I do have to cut one card (forgot to cover the overhang during exposure), but I'll probably just leave the rest uncut to give more room for writing.

I have to say, I had a blast in the darkroom today - I've never printed this many copies before. I definitely have to come up with some sort of standardized workflow for "production runs".

Oh, and btw, I received Darwin's (drpsilver) card today. Man, that is a cool shot. I love that sort of thing (not going to say too much since I don't know if we're supposed to talk about them yet).

So the the prints are hanging up to dry and I'll get them out either tomorrow or Monday.

Edit: I miscounted, there's only 20 on my list, including George and Sean, so I actually have two extra.

I'm not sure if I'm guilty or not.. If so I apologize. Postmen-and women- are great, during previous round, I received a card WITHOUT ANY ADDRESS... I suppose the sticker got tired at the last stage of the trip, but my post(woman identified the postcard with me, as she delivers quite a lot every year !

Ok I've been so busy lately, I didn't realize how long it's been since my cards were mailed.

It's been ten days now, so it shouldn't be too much longer - certainly the handful of those sent to U.S. members should have arrived by now.

rrusso, while reading your post I discovered your card under a pile of bills on my desk, it must have come a few days ago by how shallow it was buried in the bill's pile. I really like the "Discovery" look on the boys face as he gazes into the box, nice lighting set up

rrusso,
I too received your card. I always like it when the cars I receive seem to tell a story. Your card does that really well.

I also received a card from rrusso. The surprise mixed with excitement in the boy's face made for a very nice photo. I like the message on his shirt, and you managed the extreme contrast very well. Thank you for your kind words about my card. The "photo gods" were looking after me when I made this photo - quick set-up in the rain with a new camera and little experience in LF.

Regards,
Darwin

I've just received today (Saturday 28/10/17) a postie from David at Harman.

I don't want to give away what's on it, as I think I will be the first to receive it, as we are both in the UK, but it's a well printed card with a theme running throughout the picture.

Many thanks David.
